Choir Collaborate for Central Youth Theatre Fundraiser

May 16, 2011

The Temponilla Vocal Ensemble, are holding a ‘Summer Concert’ to raise money for Central Youth theatre on Saturday 14th May.   The concert will mark the final push for the youth theatre, whose young members have been fundraising for over a year to help their current ‘Everybody Dance Now’ project.
Temponilla, have a broad repertoire of music from Henry VIII to the Beatles. They will be joined by soloists from Central Youth Theatre who will be taking a break from acting rehearsals to sing and play their own instruments.
All proceeds will go towards the Everybody Dance Now festival, a celebration of the history of social dancing in Wolverhampton, which will take place in the city from 29th July to 6th August this year. It is a dancing for the games project inspired by London 2012 and part of the Cultural Olympiad in the West Midlands.

Youth Theatre Director Jane Ward says:

This is the second time that Temponollia have staged a concert for us in Wolverhampton and all our members are very grateful for the time and effort that the choir members have dedicated  towards helping us reach our fund-raising goal  of £5,000. If we manage to raise over £200 on the night we will have reached that target, which in the current recession is a real achievement.
Everybody Dance Now is now fast approaching with just 12 weeks left until the actual festival, so the pace of planning is now reaching a frenzy in the office.   In two weeks time we will be launching our Festival Guide and once this is out on the streets people will be able to start booking tickets for the events.

The concert will take place at The Church of Christ the King, Pendeford Avenue, WV6 9EG and will start at 7.30pm. At only £5/£3 a head, this will be an enjoyable way to spend an evening. Call 01902 572091 for tickets, or pay on the door.
